Wireless & Networking

Networks built for Northern reality

Wi-Fi, switching, firewalls, and remote-site connectivity — designed for offices, retail, hotels, and the worksites where bandwidth is precious and downtime is expensive.

What’s included

Design, deploy, monitor — the whole stack

We’ve been building Northern networks for over 20 years. Office buildouts, multi-site retail, remote camps — the gear changes, the principles don’t.

Wi-Fi design & deployment

Coverage planning that accounts for your actual floor plan and density needs. Access points placed where they help — not just where the wiring was easy.

Switching, routing, firewalls

The wired backbone done right. VLAN segmentation, proper firewall rules, redundancy where it matters. Built to scale as you grow.

Remote & multi-site connectivity

Site-to-site VPNs, cellular failover, satellite-friendly designs. We’ve connected camps, retail chains, and Northern offices where “just plug in the fibre” wasn’t an option.

Guest Wi-Fi, properly isolated

Captive portals, bandwidth limits, and full network segmentation. Your guests get internet. They don’t get a path into your file server.

Network monitoring

Switches, access points, and links watched 24/7. We see slowdowns, failures, and unusual traffic patterns — usually before users start opening tickets.

ISP coordination

When the link is down, you call us — we coordinate with your ISP on diagnostics and escalation. We don’t replace your ISP support, we run point so you’re not the one on hold.

Site surveys & expansions

New location, office moving, expansion to a new floor? We walk the site, design the network, source the gear, and stand it up — start to finish.

How we work

From site survey to ongoing support

Wireless and networking projects fail in the planning phase, not the install phase. We spend the time up front so the install just works.

1

Site survey & design

We walk the space (or remote in for distant sites), document constraints — physical, power, bandwidth, growth plans — and design a network that fits. You get diagrams and a bill of materials.

2

Deployment

We source the gear, configure it before it leaves the bench where possible, install on-site, and validate coverage and performance against the design. No surprises on go-live.

3

Ongoing monitoring

Network gear added to our 24/7 monitoring stack. We see issues early, push firmware on a schedule, and revisit the design when your business changes.

FAQ

Questions we hear a lot

Anything not covered here? Email us and we’ll answer.

Can you handle remote or Northern sites with limited connectivity?
Yes. For sites in Hay River, we’re hands-on. For everywhere else — camps, lodges, regional offices — we typically work remotely: we handle the design, remote configuration, and validation, while a local hand (yours or a contractor) does the physical install. For these kinds of sites we design with the realities of remote connectivity in mind — failover paths, traffic prioritisation, and gear that’s easy to manage from a distance. We’ll travel for larger projects where it makes sense.
Do you work with our existing ISP?
Yes. We don’t replace your ISP relationship — we coordinate with them. When something’s wrong with the circuit, you call us, we diagnose, and we manage the escalation with the ISP so you’re not the one stuck on the support line repeating account numbers.
What brands of wireless and networking gear do you install?
For new deployments we’ve been moving to Ubiquiti — enterprise-grade features at small-business prices, with management tools we like. We’ll also work with whatever you already have (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, and others) rather than ripping and replacing for no reason. The right answer depends on the use case, not the brand on the box.
Do you handle guest Wi-Fi separately from the staff network?
Always. Guest Wi-Fi runs on a separate VLAN with no access to your internal network, optional captive portal for terms and login, and bandwidth limits so a guest streaming Netflix can’t bring down your operations. It’s a standard part of every Wi-Fi deployment we do.
What if we need a new site stood up in a hurry?
We’ve done quick turnarounds before — pop-up retail, temporary offices, emergency rebuilds. The faster you can get us a site survey (even just photos and a sketch), the faster we can spec, order, and stage gear. Realistic timelines depend on hardware availability, but we plan for “fast” by default.
How does pricing work?
Networking projects are usually quoted as a fixed price covering design, gear, and install. Ongoing monitoring and support is typically rolled into a managed IT agreement. Email us with a description of the site and we’ll scope and quote it.

Let’s design your network properly.

Email us with a quick description of your site — office, retail, hotel, remote camp, whatever — and we’ll get back with next steps. New build, refresh, or troubleshoot, we’ve probably done it before.
